eSIM Service Terms

How BrisqNet's data plans actually work.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

How These Terms Fit In

These eSIM Service Terms describe how BrisqNet's data plans actually work, technically and practically. They sit alongside our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy, and use the same defined terms.

Installation

Each BrisqNet eSIM is provided as a unique QR code and/or manual installation details (SM-DP+ address and activation code), accessible in your account after purchase. Installing it adds an eSIM profile to your device's eSIM settings.

Because each installation code is intended to activate one eSIM profile on one device, we recommend installing it only on the device you intend to use it with, on a stable Wi-Fi connection, and following the on-screen steps provided in our installation guide.

Activation

An eSIM profile is "activated" once it connects to a partner network for the first time — this typically happens automatically when you arrive in a covered destination and enable data roaming/the relevant line on your device, or, for some plans, at a scheduled activation date you choose at checkout. Where a plan has a fixed start date, its validity period begins on that date regardless of when you first connect.

Supported Devices

To use a BrisqNet eSIM, your device generally needs to:

  • support eSIM technology (most flagship phones and tablets from recent years do)
  • be unlocked, or unlocked for eSIM use, by your existing carrier
  • support the specific network bands used by our partner operators in your destination

Device support varies by manufacturer, model, and sometimes by the carrier your device was originally sold with. We provide compatibility guidance to help you check before you buy, but you're responsible for confirming compatibility with your own device and carrier before purchasing — see Refund Policy § Compatibility Issues & Unsupported Devices.

Coverage

Coverage for each destination, region, or global plan is provided through one or more partner mobile network operators that BrisqNet has agreements with in that location. Coverage maps and destination pages describe the general areas served, but coverage can vary within a country — for example, being stronger in cities than in remote areas — consistent with the partner network's own footprint.

Network Switching

Where more than one partner network is available in a destination, your device may automatically select between them based on signal strength and standard mobile network selection behaviour, without any set order of preference from BrisqNet. We can't guarantee connection to a specific named network operator, even where we mention partner names for reference.

Speed Variation

Data speeds depend on the local partner network's technology (e.g. 4G/5G availability), congestion, your location, your device's own capabilities, and general mobile network conditions — the same factors that affect any mobile connection. We don't guarantee a specific speed, and speed will typically vary throughout your trip. This normal variation is different from a service outage — see Refund Policy § Network Provider Issues.

Fair Usage

Where a plan is marketed as "unlimited" or includes high-volume data, it remains subject to fair usage, meaning it's intended for standard personal or business travel use as described in our Acceptable Use Policy. If your usage is significantly and consistently outside normal patterns for your plan type — for example, sustained tethering at commercial-hotspot volumes, or automated, machine-to-machine, server-hosting, or continuous high-volume downloading use — we or our network partners may apply reasonable measures such as speed deprioritisation, consistent with how mobile operators generally manage high-usage connections.

On an unlimited plan specifically, this means network speeds may be reduced after a certain amount of high-speed data has been used, or during periods of unusually high network demand, before returning to full speed at the next reset period. Unlimited refers to the length of your connectivity for the plan's validity period, not to unrestricted network speed at all times. The applicable thresholds, speed reduction, and reset timing are set and applied through our network partners' own traffic management systems, so they can vary by destination, network, and plan.

Plan Validity & Expiry

Every plan has a validity period (for example, a number of days or a fixed date range) shown at the time of purchase. Data must be used within that window. Unused data does not carry over once a plan expires, unless we state otherwise for a specific plan at checkout. Buying a new plan for the same or a different destination doesn't extend the validity of a previous, separate plan.

The Reusable eSIM Model

BrisqNet is built around a single, reusable eSIM profile: once installed, the same profile can generally be topped up with a new plan for a future trip, instead of installing a new eSIM every time.

This depends on a few practical things:

  • your device must remain compatible and the eSIM profile must remain installed — deleting the profile from your device may mean it can't simply be reactivated, and you may need to contact support for a replacement installation
  • eSIM profiles are typically tied to the original device they were installed on
  • "One eSIM for life" describes the intended design of the product, not a guarantee that any individual eSIM profile will work indefinitely regardless of device changes, operating system updates, or actions you take on your device

Zero Liability for Local Operator Outages

BrisqNet doesn't own or operate the mobile networks that carry your data abroad — that infrastructure belongs to independent, third-party network operators in each destination. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrisqNet is not liable for outages, degraded service, or unavailability caused by a partner network operator's own infrastructure, maintenance, regulatory action, or events outside BrisqNet's reasonable control. Where we can verify a sustained partner-network failure affected your plan, see Refund Policy § Network Provider Issues for how we handle it commercially.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these eSIM Service Terms as our product, coverage, or network partnerships change. We'll post updates here with a new "Last updated" date.
